On Sunday, March 23rd, the University of Maryland faced one of their most triumphant moments in basketball history.
Since 2016, Maryland’s Terrapins have not made an appearance in the Sweet 16 games during March Madness. This year, that all changed when the Terps faced Colorado State’s Rams.
The score was 70-71, with the time on the clock ticking. As the Rams focused on their defensive skills, Maryland’s center, freshman Derik Queen, got powered up for his shot.
He took it, and the ball slid into the net, winning the game for the Terps 72 to 71.
At that moment, the Rams said farewell to their seat in the Sweet 16, and bid farewell to their chances of playing University of Florida. University of Maryland students say they are buzzing to be involved in yet another round of the 2025 March Madness Games!
