MIAA Varsity Volleyball kicked off its season last week with a win – the team’s first since 2021.

On Friday, September 1, 2023, MIAA Varsity Volleyball beat Archbishop Curley 3-1.

This was the team’s first conference game of the season – and also their first win since 2021!

During the first set, Friends was down 14-19. But they quickly made a comeback, and kept the score tied until they lost a rally that caused them to drop the first set, losing it 25-27.

But their morale stayed high. That, and some amazing rallies, pushed them to victory in the next three sets!

Throughout the game, the crowd got to see exciting plays from many players. Notable plays of the game included sophomore Jullian Marquez’s impressive spikes, saves from sophomore Asish Chhetri, and serves from junior Mason Cost.

This was a very exciting win for the team, and they are looking to capitalize on their newfound momentum.
