Friends juniors prepare for the 2023 Homecoming dance.

Excitement for this year’s Homecoming dance started long before Saturday, October 14, finally came! Students said the “Back to the Future” theme was a hit.

The night started off with some of students’ favorite songs, like the Cupid Shuffle and The Wobble. DJ OK really got the crowd in the Dining Hall going, and the excitement on the dance floor showed he was a fan favorite.

“He played the right music to match the vibe,” said junior Laya Bubshait, one of many enthusiastic dancers on the floor throughout the night.

DJ OK gave freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and of course seniors, their own shout outs. Students even spotted faculty chaperones busting a move to DJ OK, dancing to the Cupid Shuffle and Bruno Mars.

Snacks included a large selection of food and drinks, from top-of-the-line Cheez-Its to CapriSuns. The snacks were gone in minutes.

Meanwhile, the Old Gym was open for students who wanted a break from the dance.  The gym was packed!  There were students in every corner, playing games or sitting and talking with friends. Throughout the night, people played basketball, bean bag toss, and even volleyball. Things definitely got competitive!

Overall, the 2023 Upper School Homecoming was a success.
