A senior accesses the Common App landing page for the University of Delaware. As college deadlines approach, the class of ’24 is sleepy and stresses.

As the clock relentlessly ticks down to those early action deadlines, seniors’ stress is at an ultimate high.

Many students say they were caught off guard by how fast time has flown since the start of the school year. Mass procrastination around senior hall means many are now scrambling to write the 650-word personal statements due for their common app applications.

Meantime, classes are in full swing. With the increase in coursework, seniors are struggling to manage their time.

Juggling applications and studies is not easy. Sleepless nights and strained nerves are common. The weight of college admission decisions adds to the stress, as many seniors are applying for high-stakes schools.

None of us know what is ahead – and it’s easy for that to cause panic. The emotional rollercoaster of anticipation, excitement, and likely also disappointment, is picking up speed.
